Hand – Upper Limb training program
The orthopedic department of faculty of medicine Cairo university is organizing a specialized training program for Hand - Upper limb and Microsurgery of a total of 900 hrs (45 credit point) under the supervision of 10 highly specialized worldwide eminent hand surgeons
The aim of this clinical professional program is to train orthopedic surgeons on the different techniques of hand and microsurgery through inpatient clinical rounds - out patient clinics - adult and pediatric operating rooms – microsurgery lab and interactive highly selected focused lectures on hand surgery
This hospital based training program is a very flexible program where you can join the full 10 month program or select a part according to your needs with recognized credit points
A certificate will be given for those applying for the full program after thefulfillment of the credit points specified for the scientific activities of this training program and passing a clinical exam.

- Outline new trends in the diagnosis (clinical and radiological) and management (operative and conservative) of common and advanced problems in the field of orthopedics of the upper limb
- Formulate appropriate management plans for individual patients presenting with complex disorders and traumatology of the upper limb from Hand to shoulder
- Apply accurately the different microsurgical techniques
- Perform under supervision the basic operative procedures in the scope of traumatology , diseases and congenital abnormalities of the upper limb.
- Assist adequately in the advanced operative procedures in the scope of tumor surgery , brachial plexus injuries , reconstructive microsurgery, arthroscopy and arthroplasty.
Who can apply
For the full program
the candidate should have MD in Orthopedics or a 5 years’ experience after the master degree
for a selected part of the program
a master degree in orthopedics and a recommendation letter that the candidate will peruse a career in Hand surgery
