Program on Organ Donation and Transplantation

Dear Doctor,

The Faculty of Medicine - Cairo University, in conjunction with the Donation and Transplantation Institute - Universitat de Barcelona, are jointly organizing the 2nd intake of the PTPODaT program (Professional Training Program on Organ Donation and Transplantation), a postgraduate program for specialists in organ donation and transplantation.

The aim of this program is to train and qualify organ donation and transplantation coordinators (also referred to as Transplant Procurement Managers or TPMs). The professional training program combines online and contact phases in a blended learning approach including online modules, face-to-face seminars and hospital traineeships on organ donation and transplantation, for a total of 750 hours (30 European Credit Transfer System) over a 9-months period, starting in October 2017.

  • Abdominal surgery
  • Critical care Medicine

  • Clinical pathology
  • Gastroenterology / Hepatology
  • General surgery
  • Internal medicine
  • Neonatology
  • Nephrology
  • Pediatrics
  • Urology

  Excellent English language skills (speaking, writing) and digital literacy are indispensable.

Participants hold a Masters’ degree (or equivalent) in one of the aforementioned specialties.

  Participants need to be motivated, available and willing to commit to the program.

Strict closing date of the application is September 15th, 2017.

Selection Process:

The selection committee composed of high-profile education experts and academic coordinators of the program meets in mid-September 2017. The selected candidates will be informed by the 23rd of September 2017 about the results of the selection meeting.
